Jim Wilson is a licensed structural engineer and business owner of Wilson Engineering, based in Stroudsburg. He graduated from Lehigh University with Bachelors and Masters of Science Degrees focused in civil and structural engineering. He followed that with work in Boston, designing bridges, and later as an engineer working for a general contractor constructing a part of the Big Dig.
In 2002, Jim relocated to the Poconos to be closer to extended family and start his own business. He currently splits his work time on local building projects, consulting for homeowners with structural concerns and issues, and designing building façade systems in the New York City area.
In an effort to reach out beyond the everyday life of an engineer, Jim became involved with the Pocono Builders Association, serving as Vice President and Secretary.
Jim is the current Secretary of the Pocono Alliance Board. “I believe everyone should have an equal opportunity to succeed, which is what brought me to Pocono Alliance. That belief is at the core of their programs and philosophies,” he says. “Well, that and the fact that Michael brought me coffee. That helped, too,” he adds with a smile.
Jim and his wife, Christine, live in the Stroudsburg area with their two sons.
